“NRU announce the appointment of Andrew Neal as its new Chair of Youth
Andrew is a highly respected member of Tynedale RFC and brings a wealth of experience from his current role as Chair of Age Grade Rugby.
Having played senior rugby for seven different sides at Tynedale, coached the U21’s, coached the U16’s for 11 seasons, been Chair of House and Bar, an RFU level 2 coach and a County panel referee, Andrew has a vast knowledge of club and CB rugby.

NRU Director of Rugby, Ian Moralee commented “Andrew has done a great job as Chair at Tynedale and has done some excellent work on the previous Youth committee. The Board felt that a new committee was required to promote Youth rugby across all age groups in Northumberland. Andrew’s experience and passion for the development of youth rugby made him an obvious candidate for the Chair’s position.

Andrew will be reviewing youth rugby across the County and ensuring the day to day operation is in line with RFU regulation. The new Committee will lead on the development of all youth rugby in Northumberland including the running of County Cups and festivals.
A youth forum is being planned for later this year when clubs will have the opportunity to discuss age grade issues and meet the new Youth Committee.”
