A sad announcement

Paul's Funeral Service
Paul's service will take place at St Andrew's Church, Corbridge on Tuesday 13th April at 11am, followed by a private cremation. Rergrettably, the funeral service is also private due to current restrictions but for anyone wishing to pay respects the cortege will depart St Andrew's Church at 11.30am.

Sadly long time club member Paul Davison passed away on Saturday 27th March following several years of poor health.

Paul was an active member at Tynedale for most of his life and played many times for the 1stXV, mainly as as a mobile prop forward. He actually made his 1stXV debut as a wing-forward when Tynedale beat Old Novos at Dene Park by 16-11 on 27th September 1969. Paul scored one of the tries that day.
That season he alternated between prop and back-row, before he became established as a prop in the following years.

Paul represented all the Tynedale teams during his playing career and captained the 4thXV in the latter years of his playing career.

When his playing career ended Paul conscientiously managed the Grasshoppers and other junior sides and his service was recognised when he was made a Vice-President of the club.

Owning the neighbouring caravan site Paul was always more than willing to offer a helping hand in all sorts of mainly unseen ways. Basically Paul was a lovely man.

The Clubs thoughts are with Paul’s wife Maureen and their family in these difficult times. The Club’s flag will be flying at half-mast as a mark of respect.
RIP Paul.
