The 1stXV are back on the road this Saturday as they head down the M6 into Lancashire to take on our old friends Preston Grasshoppers.

With these excellent results last season Otley and Preston Grasshoppers won promotion to the revised National League Two (North) after they had both been relegated the previously played season (2019-2020).

THE OLDEST CLUBS IN OUR LEAGUE.
Otley and Preston Grasshoppers bring two of the more ancient clubs to our League. Three clubs are now older than Tynedale; Harrogate RUFC, Otley RUFC and Preston Grasshoppers RFC.

The last time the two clubs met at Lightfoot Green was on 1st February 2020 when Tynedale recorded a relatively comfortable 29-14 victory.

Earlier this season on November 5th Tynedale edged the match between the two sides – Tynedale holding on to win a disappointing match 17-12.

The ‘Hoppers current league position, just above the relegation places, suggests they have struggled this season but a close look through their results tells us that they have lost narrowly on several occasions (7 losing bonus points) with impressive home victories over Rotherham and Otley (in their last home match). We expect another tough away match on our return to Lightfoot Green.
