This Saturday our 1stXV head on down to North Manchester to take on our old friends Sedgley Park – or Sedgley Tigers as they now like to be called. For the second away game running Tynedale take on the unbeaten league leaders with the Tigers heading the league after last week’s top of the table win over previous leaders Fylde.

Since the advent of leagues the two clubs have met each other in various different leagues but since 2015-2016 both sides have competed in National 2 North.
Sedgley Park were relegated into National 2 North at the end of the 2012-2013 season, two seasons before Tynedale suffered the same fate.
Over the past six seasons Sedgley have consistently finished in the top four of the league, being runners-up on three occasions.

Until last season Tynedale could have been classed as Sedgley’s ‘bogey side’ but Sedgley firmly put that to bed last season with two resounding victories.

The last time Tynedale travelled to Sedgley Park was on 4th December 2021 when on a wet and windy day Tynedale struggled, particularly in the first half, and lost by seven tries to one!

As mentioned earlier unbeaten Sedgley have made an excellent start to the season and sit at the top of the league with Fylde, who they beat last Saturday, very much on their heels. The lads are looking forward to what they know will be another very challenging match.
