The Wooden Spoon’s Annual Vets Tournament is coming to Tynedale Park this summer.
100’s of Vets players from the UK and Ireland will compete in Men’s, Women’s and Walking-Rugby tournaments on Saturday 23rd August 2025.
The 2024 event, held at Old Reigatians RFC in Sussex welcomed 16 Men’s and 12 Women’s teams for a celebration of rugby whilst fundraising for the incredible work the Wooden Spoon Charity carries out.
Teams will start to arrive on Friday & the rugby will get underway around 9am on Saturday morning, going on until around 7pm.
Each Wooden Spoon ‘Region’ is invited to enter a team & commit to a fundraising effort ahead of the event. The Overall Winners will be the team with the best combined score from their on-pitch and off-field efforts.

It remains a chosen charity of the proceeds from the incredible Stay Strong Stu effort & they have supported projects on our doorstep including Sensory Gardens and Minibuses for the Priory School in Hexham.
