Report taken from "The Rugby Paper ":-
Tynedale earned bragging rights with a narrow win at north-east rivals Blaydon.
The hosts may have scored more tries, but indiscretions cost them dear, with Jake Rodger's boot ultimately proving decisive for Tynedale.
The game started at a frenetic pace and the first score came in the first minute, with winger Toby Ferguson touching down, Rodgers converting.
Blaydon's response was immediate as Danny Gray controlled a maul from the back and went over, with John Clarkson kicking the two points.
Rodgers kicked his first penalty after 22 minutes but Blaydon responded well, with centre Alex Clark scoring, again Clarkson converting.
Tynedale hit back with hooker Louis Frankland going over from a lineout which was converted by Rodgers.
The usual reliable boot of Clarkson then missed a penalty in front of the posts to level it on the stroke of half time.
Within 10 minutes of the restart, Blaydon gave away two penalties under their posts and both were kicked by Rodgers.
Blaydon's James Cooney was held up just short of the line, but Ethan Clarke followed up from the ruck to score.
Tynedale's Chris Wearmouth used all of his considerable muscle to power over as Tynedale responded again with replacement fly-half Josh Leslie adding the kick.
Clarke then grabbed his second try for the hosts but the conversion was missed and Tynedale held out comfortably for victory.
