BILLINGHAM RUFC
Between Season 1960/61 and 1971/72 Tynedale’s 1st and Second XV's played Billingham each season, alternatively at home then away - often over the New Year period.
The 1stXV’s played each other 12 times in that period. Later, after rising up the leagues Billingham were constant members of National Three North and the new Northern Premier Division until their promotion from Regional One North-East as champions in 2023, when Tynedale welcomed them back, and the rivalry between the two clubs was renewed.

Report from The Rugby Paper:-
If there ever was a phrase to describe a typically combative, robust, National League affair, "hard fought" couldn't have been more apt at Corbridge.
Both sides refused to relent in defence and despite the teams trading six tries, everyone was, well, hard won - and in the end , a draw was a fair result.
It was the hosts who drew first blood, the excellent Seamus Hutton getting himself across the whitewash and it proved to be the only scoring moment of a first half for the purists. And whatever was spoken of in the Billingham changing room at half time certainly had the desired effect.

Within two minutes of the restart they were level, via Joseph Ross, but the Tynedale response was equally swift- Ralph Johnston the man driven over.

Hutton and Ross then traded tries as the game threatened, albeit briefly, to come to life, and while it never quite materialised there was still plenty to keep the fans interested.

Loie Groark smashed over for the equalising score with 15 minutes left and as the game threatened to meander towards an inevitable conclusion, Peter Evans was presented with an opportunity from the tee to win it for Billingham, but his kick sailed wide.

BILLINGHAM THIS SEASON
Billingham have had a difficult first half of the season but their home form is good, their only defeats being against Leeds, Sheffield and Lymm. Their last match at home was against Fylde and Billingham will be disappointed that the match was abandoned at half time with Billingham 5-0 up and Storm Darragh in their favour in the ‘not-to-be’ second half.
Its certain to be another tough, competitive match.
