Report taken from "The Rugby Paper":-
Newly crowned champions Leeds Tykes were sent tumbling to only their second defeat of the season at Tynedale.
After taking an early lead the Tykes were neve really in it as Tynedale produced a magnificent display.
Things looked ominous when a sparkling handling move down the right brought a well worked try for Leeds' Euan Laughton with Kit Keith adding the extras with only eight minutes gone.
But the champions were seldom allowed out of their own half thereafter, as Tynedale tackled like demons to snuff out any danger.
By the 19th minute Tynedale were level, with the Tykes defence carved open by slick handling which allowed Joe Beaty to swerve in for a lovely try converted by Cam Grant.
Grant's boot proved deadly in the second period as Tynedale continued to dominate, with the full back landing three penalties in 12 minutes to open up a 16-7 advantage.
Leeds were robbed of the ball on the edge of their own 22 on the hour and Seamus Hutton roared in at the corner for Tynedale's second.
A 74th minute score by Kit Keith hinted at a Tykes comeback, but Tynedale remained on top to end their season in style.
