Based on report taken from 'The Rugby Paper':-
Tynedale opened their account for the season with a hard-earned and deserved victory against their visitors from Herefordshire.
Luctonians were in with a shout for a large part of the match and led at the interval but the Northumbrians turned the screw as the match progressed and Luctonians had to make their 600 mile round trip back to Herefordshire still seeking their first league points.
Tynedale dominated for the opening 25 minutes but all they had to show for their pressure were two penalties from full-back Ross Cooke.
Lucs hit back after 27 minutes with a penalty from Owen Randell and then took the lead shortly before the break when centre Ben Owen touched down under the posts, Randell converting to give the visitors a 10-6 advantage at the interval.
Lucs could have increased their lead early in the second half but strong Tynedale defence forced a penalty when the visitors were well positioned.
That proved to be a turning point in the match as Tynedale began to dominate possession and put a few good moves together and with the Lus line under pressure they lost replacement Brad Smith to the sin bin.
A prolonged and energy-sapping forward drive eventually resulted in a deserved Tyne try with Oscar Caudle getting the touch down - Cooke converting to give Tyne a 13-10 lead.
Tynedale continued to dominate the closing 15 minutes and on the stroke of time another irresistible forward drive and five metre scrum resulted in a try for Guy Pike after a strong Henry Wainwright surge.
