1. 1992-1993

President: J.H.G. Saunders
Chairman: E. Robson
Hon. Secretary: J. Chapman
Hon Treasurer: D.F. Hamilton
Club Captain: R.W. Parker
Club Coach: I. Harris, S. Mullins

1stXV
The first XV had another successful season, winning 26 games out of 33 enjoying a good run in the Pilkington Cup, and retaining the Northumberland Cup by holding Newcastle Gosforth (National Divison 1) to a nail-biting draw after extra time. Yet, none of these laudable results can ameliorate the pain of once more having failed to gain league promotion. The club has now been trying since 12th September 1987.

In the Pilkington Cup the 1st XV beat Hartlepool Rovers, then Sheffield (Nat. Div. 3) before losing to Morley (Nat. Div. 2).

Raiders/Grasshoppers
The 2nd XV adopted the new name of "Raiders". They and the Grasshoppers reached their respective cup-finals. The Grasshoppers won, whilst the Raiders lost to a well-organised Gosforth Greyhounds team.

Under 21's
An Under 21 side was fielded regularly for the first time.

County
10 players represented Northumberland in senior County Championship matches - John Fletcher, Michael Old, Simon Clayton-Hibbott, Chris Leslie, Richard Parker, Edward Parker, Martin White, Andy Oglethorpe, Campbell Hewitson and Graham Yates.

Gary Fleming, Ian Donkin, Steve Turnbull, Reuben Mulholland, Clive Chadwick and Paul Leonard played for Northumberland B.

John Fletcher
John Fletcher represented the North v South, was selected to tour with the North, and to tour Canada with England 'A'.

Colts
There were regularly 40 colts and Junior colts at Thursday night training sessions.

Mini donation
Mini-section donated £1,000 towards the cost of the new stand and paid for the installation of a PA system.

Andrew Blyth
An ex-mini player, Andrew Blyth, currently at Rugby school, was selected for England U18 group Schools team and played in four games.

The Ladies' Committee purchased two new ovens and other equipment for the kitchen.

Management Restructure
At an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 24th May 1993 the club constitution was amended in various ways. The most far-reaching change was the replacement of the old General Committee of more than 40 members, by a Management Committee consisting of a Chief Executive, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, Director of Rugby and three other members. This management committee was given powers to appoint Chairmen of sub-committees, approve the composition of sub-committees, vest such powers in these sub-committees as it considers necessary, and require reports from the committees detailing their activities.

A General Committee was appointed, to meet at least three times a year, to oversee the actions of the Management Committee - but with no powers of veto.
